The trend
What Is the Raindance AI Trend?
One person waiting at the end of a wooden pier, another walking up through golden-hour light singing to the camera - and suddenly everyone on TikTok is starring in the same music-video scene. Here is where the format came from, how AI took it over, and how to make your own.

The short answer
The Raindance AI trend is a format where two people - or characters - are placed in the sunset pier scene from Dave & Tems' "Raindance" music video. AI video tools generate the clip from two photos, so anyone can recreate the scene without the original footage.
Where "Raindance" comes from
"Raindance" is a track by British rapper Dave featuring Nigerian singer Tems, released October 24, 2025 on the album The Boy Who Played the Harp. It reached No. 1 on the UK singles chart in January 2026. In the official video, a roughly 28-second scene shows one person waiting at the end of a wooden pier while the other walks up the boardwalk singing - the exact scene the trend recreates.
The original video vs. the AI version
AI clips borrow the staging, not the footage: the pier, the low sun, the walk-up serenade and the to-camera close-ups. Tools like this one generate a brand-new scene from two uploaded photos, so nothing from the original video is reused.
How it spread in September 2026
In late September 2026, AI-made Raindance recreations went viral on TikTok and Instagram Reels. A CapCut template built around the scene passed 700,000 uses in the first days of October, and creators started pairing everyone from couples to pets to rival footballers.

Three ways people make it
- One-click generator: upload two photos and the tuned template handles the pier, the light and the serenade. Open the video generator
- CapCut template: drop photos into a fixed scene - fast, but fixed framing and a possible watermark. CapCut vs AI compared
- Your own prompt: describe the pier scene in any image-to-video tool with a copy-paste note. Copy a prompt
Doing it responsibly
- Use your own photos, or photos of people who agreed to it.
- Don't present AI clips as the real artists - check the AI-content label rules on TikTok and Instagram before posting.
- This site is an independent fan tool; the song and the original video belong to their artists and labels.
